Stricker (-120) over Oberholser

-Stricker Wisky native, went to University Of Illinois, basically a hometown course for him

-Despite past success Oberholser is ailing and the fact that he played Monday, leaves one less day of rest for his ailment

Q. You played so well last week, Arron. Can you talk about the injury? You're probably as healthy as you've been in a long time I'm guessing

ARRON OBERHOLSER: Well, no, I'm not, unfortunately. I'm still struggling with the hand and wrist injuries, and these won't go away until I quit playing golf this year. I need -- my physical therapist has told me I need three weeks off, no holding onto anything and no blunt force trauma to the hands for three weeks and this thing will heal up and I'll be ready to play Grayhawk, which will be my last event of the year.
As soon as the Playoffs are over for me, that's my plan. But I'm playing on four Advil a day.

Q. If you're playing on four Advil a day, playing four weeks in a row and playing this stretch, how has that been for you?

ARRON OBERHOLSER: It's been hard. It's been hard on my hands. I'll be honest with you, it's tough on the hands and wrist. They're sore and they're beat up. I've been playing with it since the Byron Nelson, every week. We've played about four or five U.S. Open-type setups since the Byron Nelson, so the rough has been bad. I think you guys have noticed how bad the rough has been this year. It's been pretty brutal year course setup-wise this year, and when you drive it in that rough you've got to gouge it out and that adds to the soreness and the pain.

Course doesn't look good for Oberholser

Potentially nasty test awaits, depending on how firm Cog Hill's Dubsdread Course can get before Thursday. Two weeks ago, about eight inches of rain fell on the Dick Wilson-designed layout, and the place is still drying out. Course superintendent Ken Lapp couldn't cut the greens for four days.

Only this past weekend did things start getting back in shape. It's still a bit spongy in the fairways and on the large, undulating greens, but the rough is lush and topped off at 4 ½ inches.

With the mowers now put to bed, Lapp said the rough could grow to six inches by the weekend. Good thing the fairways are generous -- 25-30 yards -- and not running hard and fast.

Straight sunshine and a bit of wind wouldn't hurt to make playing conditions a bit more challenging. Cog Hill's Dubsdread Course, 7,326 yards and par-71, played to an average of 71.366 last year when the tournament was in July, ranking it in the bottom half of the TOUR venues in terms of difficulty. That should change, and maybe by more than just a little with the right meteorological combination.

Good info. I am on it. Also played Els over Woods 1st Rd at +235. Tiger on a short week coming off of an absolutely grinding tournament. Els coming in very fresh.

Stricker off to a good start. -2 thru 4.

I am assuming with there only being 70 players, there is no cut? Can anyone confirm this?

no cut but that was the easiest win ever.....

Oberholser withdrawls during the 9th hole

according to thegreek rules

A golfer is deemed to have played once he or she has teed off. In the event of a player withdrawing after having teed off, wagers on that player will be lost.

had this bet huge.

The winner of the match-ups will be decided by which golfer ends up with the lowest score having played equal rounds. Both golfers must tee off in the tournament or the wager will be "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and all money will be refunded. If one of the golfers misses the cut, withdraws, or is disqualified during the tournament, the opposing golfer wins the match-up.

Wow that is awesome. I made the play on 5dimes and cannot find clear cut rules regarding this. I would assume the rules are the same as the greek? This is the only thing I see.

The golfer to complete more holes in a tournament or single round match-up is the winner. If golfers both complete the same number of holes, the golfer with the lower score is the winner.

Both players need to tee off for the wager to have action. Oberholser withdrew in the 9th hole, the wager already have action because both players started. Oberholser withdrew he is a loser, that apply for tournament or rounds match ups. And in the case both of the players withdrew, wins whoever score better. Those are the rules at 5dimes.
